Disney Invests $1 Billion in OpenAI: Over 200 Characters to Be Available on Sora

In a groundbreaking announcement, Disney has secured a significant partnership to bring its beloved characters to the generative artificial intelligence video platform Sora.

The statement revealed that The Walt Disney Company and OpenAI have reached an agreement making Disney the first major content licensing partner for Sora.

Over 200 Disney Characters Available for Short Film Creation

According to the announcement, the licensing agreement spans 3 years. Under this partnership, Sora will be able to generate short videos featuring more than 200 characters from Disney, Marvel, Pixar, and Star Wars franchises that fans can watch and share.

Major Financial Investment

The statement also confirmed that Disney will make a capital investment of $1 billion in OpenAI as part of this strategic collaboration.
