Comcast has launched a complete overhaul of its television service offerings, introducing transparent pricing with no hidden fees or long-term commitments. Following earlier changes to its internet service, the cable giant is now bringing the same simplified approach to TV packages.
What Makes These Plans Different?
The new video plans represent a significant departure from traditional cable pricing models. Comcast is offering all-in pricing that includes major fees upfront, with no contracts required and no equipment rental charges. The company aims to eliminate the frustration of promotional rates that expire and force customers into negotiation calls.
According to Comcast, these changes bring “simplicity and transparency” to TV service. However, customers should note that while there’s a 30-day money-back guarantee covering one month’s recurring service and standard installation charges up to $500, new customers may face initial installation fees.
What’s Included in Every Package?
All TV packages come standard with an X1 4K TV box and voice remote. Subscribers also get access to:
- Multiview capability
- Enhanced 4K resolution
- StreamStore for browsing and managing services
- Fan View sports companion with live scores and statistics
- More than 300 hours of DVR storage
- Xfinity Stream app access
Premium channels can be added for additional charges.
The New Plan Lineup
Comcast’s restructured TV offerings include five distinct tiers:
- TV Core: 10+ channels for $65 monthly
- Sports and News TV: 50+ channels for $90 monthly
- World Soccer Ticket: 55+ channels for $95 monthly
- TV Plus: 125+ channels for $105 monthly
- TV Premium: 185+ channels for $135 monthly
How to Save Even More
Customers can reduce their monthly costs by $10 on any plan by also subscribing to Xfinity Internet. Additionally, there’s an option to add the Stream Saver package for $15 monthly, which bundles Netflix with ads, Apple TV+, and Peacock Premium with ads – a $3 monthly savings compared to purchasing these services separately.
Steve Croney, Comcast’s chief operating officer and incoming chief executive officer of Connectivity and Platforms, stated: “Like we did with Xfinity Internet, we’ve simplified and reimagined our video packages, making it easy and hassle-free for our customers to enjoy great content on the best and most innovative entertainment experience.”
Availability
These new plans are available to both new and existing customers nationwide. The rollout marks Comcast’s continued effort to modernize its service structure and compete more effectively in an increasingly streaming-focused entertainment landscape.
