Adobe’s Photoshop, Express, and Acrobat Integration with ChatGPT: What’s Changing?

Adobe’s Head of Digital Media, David Wadhwani, announced that this integration will enable “millions of people to edit in Photoshop using just their words.” This move represents a continuation of OpenAI’s strategy to transform ChatGPT into an application platform. Previously, services like Canva, Figma, Spotify, and Zillow had also been integrated into ChatGPT.
How Does the Integration Work?
Users can now upload an image and add “Adobe Photoshop” to their command to perform edits such as brightness and contrast adjustments, targeting specific areas, or adding effects through written instructions.
The Adobe Express integration allows users to create graphic designs like invitations, posters, and logos through text commands and edit them using templates.
The Acrobat integration enables PDF editing, file merging, conversion, and redacting sensitive information directly through ChatGPT.
For more comprehensive edits, users still need to open Adobe’s native applications, but for quick and basic edits, using ChatGPT proves quite practical.
Free but Limited Access
These integrations are currently free of charge; however, there’s a possibility of monetization in the long term. While in-app edits don’t reach the level of detail available in professional Adobe software, the Express and Acrobat features appear particularly useful for everyday users.
Platform Availability
The Photoshop, Express, and Acrobat integrations are currently available on desktop, web, and iOS. Android users can only access Adobe Express for now; Photoshop and Acrobat support will be coming soon.
